Appreciate all the support but - truth is I should be better than the guys baiting me. This happens all the time these days. Often in front of my family. But there is a lesson: no need to add to the ugliness; I should be better than what I oppose.
In light of Scaramucci breaking ranks -here’s a reminder of how unconditionally some connect to this President’s divisive rhetoric. Also a reminder Chris is off - splitting time pushing kids to do summer homework, playing in ocean & trying some loco workout regimen. - 🙋🏻♀️Rose
“Loyalty” on display. And I know for a fact that Anthony knows this president very well. But - none is immune to being nullified in the name of “fighting back”. Sad.
.....other than the fact that this Administration has probably done more than any other Administration in its first 2 1/2 years of existence. Anthony, who would do anything to come back in, should remember the only reason he is on TV, and it’s not for being the Mooch!
Today is my birthday. 49. My gift to myself is to redouble efforts to expose where our govt falls short. We can do better than this form of justice. As a second generation American, as a lawyer and a journalist and a parent - I know this. So do you.
This is a great listen. @PaulRieckhoff intvs a young man who aspires to greatness in public service, running for state office as a republican, driven by the loss of his brother at sandyhook
Here is something that is true no matter what you believe about gun rights: We need to be better to one another. Time to fish. Thanks for all who made an attempt at a constructive convo. There were a few of you :)
I keep saying this. So...the question is how you define the limits. And that’s where we need to do better. Because too many are dying. That is all.
I am trying to have a conversation about how we make our communities safer. But most of you disagree by saying the other is stupid or a statist or a redneck or a commie or some combo. And if I try to bridge, you both attack me! It would be funny if so many were not dying
Look - the goal should be to have less people shot. Less violence. But this discussion shows just how vicious and ugly we can be. If people were just more invested in decency...more in the practice of kindness...we would not have so many problems.
That is an academic pursuit. We have one. And we have the ability to set reasonable regulations. We have not figured out how to do that. And we are not apparently ready to do any better even though we are killing ourselves
You will never get rid of all guns. Period. This has to be about doing a better job of controlling who gets them
It is not always ez to tell and then you have plenty of real fringe types who just savage people on here. I often look people up on twitter after we meet in person and the difference is often shocking. This place is toxic
ICYMI: I joined @ChrisCuomo and @MitchLandrieu on @CNN @CuomoPrimeTime for an important conversation about gun violence in America in the wake of shootings in #Dayton, #ElPaso, #Gilroy, #Chicago and #Brownsville. #GunCrisisTownHall
I never said otherwise. And that is proof that the government has always had the power to regulate who has what and where.
Nope. I am saying he recognized what most of you refuse to: that the right can be regulated by government. And that’s what he said. So the issue is “who can have access to what and where?” Read more; tweet less.
@ChrisCuomo Do people ever stop and wonder wha t it says about them that they are intent on deflecting from the fact that white supremacist terrorism is a major threat in this country? Like, why wouldn't you want that to be called out for what it is and dealt with? What does that say of you?
And yet Justice Scalia had no problem recognizing the right of a legislature to regulate who can have what and where. And he said it on fox - so it must be true.
True. But look at who is doing the most killing and what the head of the fbi just warned about. There is no need to “both sides” on hate. You think it helps the right to mitigate the fact that white nationalists are the major threat?
Where did I say it was wrong? And why do you people always need to “whatabout” on an issue? Until scotus changes precedent, current precedent stands. Period. Reproductive rights are not a trade off for gun rights. This is not a swap meet
