Tony Blair: This deal doesn’t end the Brexit saga, which will define our country for generations. You don’t take a decision of destiny through a spasm of impatience. Parliament should vote this deal down, get an extension & then the British people should take the final decision.

This ‘just get it done’ mindset is great. Doesn’t matter that the entire country will be poorer or whatever, let’s just have Brexit - *any* kind of Brexit - because it’s been a bit of a fuss and has taken too long.

Had a chat with Manchester United’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka today, which was nice. Thanks.

There is something of Manchester United’s summer of 2013 about this last-gasp Brexit deal: bullish big talk, deals ‘being prepared’, sunny uplands, fictional cash injections, sources all over the show. End result: Fellaini.

One day we’re going to look back at times like these and wonder why we ever questioned players walking off the pitch. It’s absolute madness to just continue to do your job and basically accept being racially abused whilst doing it

Also been told what the Bulgaria captain did at half-time. To stand alone and do the right thing takes courage and acts like that shouldn’t go unnoticed. #NoToRacism

Right to praise Southgate for the way he handled things in difficult circumstances but the focus should be on England’s black players. No idea how you can be subjected to that abuse and go about your business as normal. I guess that in itself says a lot about how normal it is.

Feels weird to even be tweeting about the actual football part of this game but Harry Winks has been great

Personally think following a protocol is bollocks when racism is so patently obvious. Zero tolerance, cancel the game.

Have to feel for Tyrone Mings, who leaves the pitch at half-time with his head bowed. Poor lad, on his debut as well

I think this game ends at half-time. I don’t think Southgate will make them walk off. It’s sad it’s come to this but absolutely imperative England make a stand against it.

Martin Odegaard was harshly branded a flop for failing to make a mark at Real Madrid as a teenager. Still just 20, his early season form is a reminder that he is well on course for the very top | @SmnLlyd5

I wholeheartedly support England captain @HKane when he says the whole team will walk off the pitch if racist abuse is thrown at any player. My interview with @JOE_co_uk at the Arsenal.

Inside the offices of every single newspaper, Friday night: “I’ve got it! How about ‘Reality Czech’?” Inside the offices of The Telegraph, Saturday morning: “...oh, you meant Czech, like the country? OK, yes I see now that would have made sense.” (hat tip @ciaranmcrory)
